Rental - Home Owners and Managers Education
(R-HOME)

The MN Crime Prevention Association rental housing training for property owners, rental managers and caretakers is the R-HOME program. R-HOME stands for Rental Home Owners and Managers Education.

If you would like to teach the R-HOME program in your city, there are training requirements you will need to adhere to. If you previously taught the CFMH program, you can teach the new R-HOME program. If you are wanting to get a rental education program started in your city or are new to rental housing education, you will need to attend a Train the Trainer session to understand the requirements of the program.

Objective

The goal of the R-HOME program is to provide a high level of education that includes best practices for owners and managers of rental property. The program is designed to develop strong property managers while building relationships with MNCPA member law enforcement agencies.  The program meets the education requirements for an 8-hour property manager training to reduce criminal activity at rental properties.

 How the Program Is Offered

The program is offered through approved MNCPA R-HOME educators who have been certified to operate a R-HOME program.  Each educator works through a partner PD and provides a minimum of 1 HOME training per year and attendees quarterly HOME partner meetings. Educators set their own training schedule.   All participants that complete the HOME class will be provided a certificate from the partner PD.  The format for the certificate is provided by MNCPA to all educators.

The R-HOME program is an 8 hour training.
